Anna Rohrer
Overall feelings about the race: The start was a little rough for me because I got trapped inside the front pack and got tripped within the first 500 meters of the race. Immediately after I fell, I got right back up and surged back up the front to reclaim my place. After that, I settled into a strong pace with the lead pack and surged away right before the two mile mark. The last mile was really tough, but that's how it should be in a race! I kept picking up the pace at the end and sprinted into the finish to take the national title.
Best part of the race:  The best part of my race was just a few seconds before I finished because I knew the other girls were right on me and I was running as fast as I could into the finish, but I didn't know if I would win. Just before I crossed the line I heard the announcer say, "And it's going to be Anna Rohrer", so that was when I knew I would claim the national title, and that was a great feeling.
The FLCC Experience:  Foot Locker has treated us all so well! I feel like we are all cared for and everyone is so nice. I loved spending time with my Midwest team and getting to know all the other athletes. The race was very well run and I had so much fun! Also, it is nice to have free time to spend around California!

Personal note:  Thank you to my family for being my "rock", I can always count on them and I know they will support whatever I do. Also, I want to thank my coach for traveling here with me and training me so long after the season ended. Lastly, thanks to my friends, school, and community for helping me raise enough money for my coach and family to come to California with me!
